Favorite Songs of 2011 – Part 1
by Tonya
Here’s the first part of a compilation of some of my favorite songs from the year. Though it was a slow music year for me this year, I still managed to see close to 50 shows and bought close to that many records, and in so doing, came up with two playlist’s worth of songs I love. Most of the songs included in my year-end compilation are not by extremely well-known artists, so if you like what you hear here I hope you’ll buy one of their albums or go out and catch a show so they can continue to make the music we all love.
Hope you enjoy!
1) Bodegas and Blood – Butch Walker and The Black Widows (from The Spade)
2) Where Not To Look For Freedom - The Belle Brigade (from Where Not To Look For Freedom)
3) When We Were Wicked – Glossary (from Long Live All Of Us)
4) I Am Disappeared – Frank Turner (from England Keep My Bones)

Sounds good so far! The order was out of whack, but it only took a few minutes to re-number them.
From one gyspy to another…thank you. The 2011 list is just another amazing example as to why I have dubbed you ‘my musical guru’. Keep on keeping on, mi amiga. Hope to see you soon! It’s about time we kicked back with some melodic sounds and a few cold ones in some southern dive.
